Out of the Blue Series
Since the mid-1990's I have been researching an old lithographic stone photo process that dates from 1858. Its photosensitive formula calls for a coating of gum and ammonium bichromate on a litho stone that is exposed to light and then developed with soap. The process is fickle in that its results are inconsistent. Not much has been written on this obscure technique and just when I am ready to put the endeavor aside, new information falls into my hands and once again I am pulled back into its powerful hold. This experience forms the content for this body of work.
